The genealogical library located in Salt Lake City, Utah is operated by the Church of Latter Day Saints or Mormons (LDS). The library catalogue is available at the FamilySearch Catalog which allows users to search the catalog of genealogical materials (including books, online materials, microfilm, microfiche, and publications) made available by FamilySearch. Many items can be ordered for viewing at a local Family History Center, usually on microfilm. Find a list of Family History Centers and FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries at the Familysearch website or at The London Family History Centre has its own online catalogue at

The material covering Britain and Ireland includes census records, parish registers or bishop's transcripts, nonconformist registers, pre and post 1858 probate records, Old Parochial Register Index (Scotland), testaments, service of heirs, deeds and abridgements to sasines (Scotland), Griffith's valuation and tithe applotment records (Ireland). The FamilySearch website only includes a small amount of the vast amount of material held by the library but does include material formerly known as International Genealogical Index (IGI) and some census returns and other new transcriptions and original images.

For guidance on any center see the FamilySearch Research Wiki article Introduction to LDS Family History Centers.
