Notes

The archives in the Modern Records Centre relate principally to industrial relations. They include the historical records of trade unions, friendly societies, employers’ associations and a variety of political organisations and pressure groups. Amongst others, they are the official home to the archives of the Trades Union Congress, the Transport and General Workers Union and the Confederation of British Industry. The centre also holds the BP (British Petroleum) company archive. Many prominent trade unionists have deposited their personal papers at the centre. A number of Research Guides including ‘Are you looking for an ancestor?’ as well as publications for sale can be found at the website.

GenGuide is completely non-profit and I enjoy looking out for new resources and keeping the site up to date. I do this for nothing because family history research is all about helping each other. However the cost of maintaining GenGuide means I need your help as well, especially with the site hosting costs.

Obviously not everyone can or will donate but your donation will help keep GenGuide running for yourself and others.
